About Us

John Bergford Architect specializes in a wide range of residential and commercial architecture, from small additions to whole-building transformations and new construction.  Established in 2003 and now with over 20 years of residential and commercial project experience, John Bergford Architect emphasizes that good design begins with good communication. The aim of design service should be to listen to the client in order to understand the goals of a project, to translate these goals into a design that communicates clearly to a builder, and to foster a partnership between owner, builder and architect to realize a built form.

Move Up in the Park

John Bergford Architect has been a participating firm in the City of St. Louis Park's "Move up in the Park" program since its inception in 2005.  The City substantially funds initial consultations with homeowners comtemplating making changes to their homes.  To date, John Bergford Architect has completed dozens of consultations; some have led to building projects, while others have concluded that the timing or other circumstances were not right or that it might be wiser to look for a new home.  Design services always begin with a first conversation and the discussion of options and possibilities.
